Colombia, 12 de agosto.- El Gobierno de Estados Unidos anunci\u00f3 este martes el env\u00edo a Colombia de un equipo de respuesta ante desastres para apoyar a las autoridades tras el potente terremoto de magnitud 7.4 que sacudi\u00f3 el pa\u00eds el lunes y que ha dejado al menos 211 muertos, numerosos edificios da\u00f1ados.

En un comunicado, el Departamento de Estado indic\u00f3 que \u00abla Administraci\u00f3n de Trump ha movilizado una respuesta inmediata tras el devastador terremoto de magnitud 7.4 que sacudi\u00f3 varias regiones de Colombia el 10 de agosto. A las pocas horas del sismo, el Departamento de Estado anunci\u00f3 15.5 millones de d\u00f3lares destinados a asistencia de emergencia para salvar vidas, incluyendo refugio, alimentos y protecci\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s de evaluaciones estructurales posteriores al sismo\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El texto precisa que \u00abel Departamento tambi\u00e9n activ\u00f3 un Equipo de Respuesta y Asistencia ante Desastres (DART), que incluye a expertos en asuntos humanitarios de todo el Departamento de Estado. Los miembros del DART comenzaron a llegar a Colombia el mismo d\u00eda de este devastador sismo, lo que subraya el compromiso del Departamento de tomar medidas inmediatas para salvar vidas en las horas cr\u00edticas posteriores a los desastres naturales en nuestro hemisferio. El Departamento de Estado contin\u00faa en contacto con el presidente colombiano Abelardo de la Espriella y el gobierno colombiano mientras eval\u00faa los impactos de este sismo y responde a la situaci\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El comunicado ampl\u00eda que \u00abel Departamento est\u00e1 desplegando un DART para brindar experiencia de primer nivel en respuesta a desastres, apoyo t\u00e9cnico y program\u00e1tico, liderazgo operativo y coordinaci\u00f3n sobre el terreno. El DART es responsable de evaluar las condiciones, identificar las necesidades humanitarias y liderar la respuesta del Gobierno de EE.UU. ante el desastre. El DART est\u00e1 trabajando en estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n con el personal de asistencia del Departamento ya presente, as\u00ed como con los diplom\u00e1ticos de nuestra embajada en Bogot\u00e1, para coordinar con las autoridades locales y las organizaciones aliadas\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
