El resultado ha sido una inflaci\u00f3n de software: m\u00e1s licencias, m\u00e1s paneles, m\u00e1s contrase\u00f1as, m\u00e1s capacitaci\u00f3n y, muchas veces, m\u00e1s fricci\u00f3n que productividad.<br><br>Hace poco, el video \u201cWhatsApp Is Eating Up SaaS\u201d planteaba una tesis provocadora pero plausible: en Am\u00e9rica Latina, mucho software \u201cligero\u201d no necesitar\u00e1<br>existir como app independiente; podr\u00e1 vivir<br>La raz\u00f3n no es filos\u00f3fica. Es pr\u00e1ctica. WhatsApp ya es la interfaz m\u00e1s familiar para millones de personas, y en Sudam\u00e9rica sigue siendo la red de mensajer\u00eda dominante. Adem\u00e1s, Am\u00e9rica Latina es cada vez m\u00e1s m\u00f3vil: Reuters report\u00f3 que el 84% de las compras de e-commerce en la regi\u00f3n ya se hacen desde smartphones.<br><br>Si el usuario ya est\u00e1 en el tel\u00e9fono, ya usa WhatsApp y ya conversa all\u00ed con su familia, su comercio y su banco, obligarlo a descargar otra app para tareas simples empieza a parecer un error de dise\u00f1o, no una estrategia digital.<br><br>Aqu\u00ed entran los agentes de IA. Conviene explicarlo sin humo. Un agente no es solo un chatbot que contesta preguntas. Es un sistema que entiendeConviene explicarlo sin humo. Un agente no es solo un chatbot que contesta preguntas. Es un sistema que entiende una intenci\u00f3n, consulta informaci\u00f3n, usa herramientas y ejecuta acciones.<br><br>Si a eso se le suma un LLM \u2014el motor que entiende lenguaje\u2014 y un esquema RAG \u2014que le permite consultar documentos y datos reales antes de responder\u2014 el resultado ya no es solo una conversaci\u00f3n simp\u00e1tica. Es una interfaz operativa. El usuario pregunta por stock, fecha de entrega, pago atrasado, cambio de reserva o estado del pedido, y el agente responde porque est\u00e1 conectado al backend real del negocio.<br><br>Eso cambia la pregunta estrat\u00e9gica. Antes la pregunta Antes la pregunta era: \u201c\u00bfQu\u00e9 software debemos comprar o construir?\u201d. Ahora empieza a ser otra: \u201c\u00bfQu\u00e9 trabajos del cliente pueden resolverse en el canal donde el cliente ya vive?\u201d. Para soporte, ventas, reservas, educaci\u00f3n, cobranzas, seguimiento y comercio conversacional, la respuesta muchas veces ser\u00e1 WhatsApp.<br><br>No es teor\u00eda. Empresas como Kapso, Wati, Interakt, Yalo, Adereso y Tiendanube ya est\u00e1n montando distintas versiones de esa apuesta: usar WhatsApp como puerta de entrada y dejar la complejidad en APIs, CRMs, inventarios, pagos y workflows detr\u00e1s del tel\u00f3n.<br><br>Ahora bien, decir que WhatsApp se va a \u201ccomer\u201d al SaaS no significa que todo SaaS va a desaparecer. Eso ser\u00eda una exageraci\u00f3n. Un ERP, una herramienta financiera compleja o un sistema de anal\u00edtica profunda no caben completos dentro de un chat.<br><br>Lo que s\u00ed est\u00e1 en riesgo es una gran capa de software de superficie: productos cuyo valor principal era ofrecer un formulario, una bandeja, una secuencia de mensajes o una interfaz sencilla para procesos repetitivos.<br><br>Ese valor se puede comprimir dr\u00e1sticamente cuando la interfaz deja de ser una app y pasa a ser una conversaci\u00f3n.
