Cochabamba, 25 de Marzo de 2026.- <\/strong>La Alcald\u00eda de Cochabamba posterg\u00f3 el D\u00eda del Peat\u00f3n previsto para abril y eval\u00faa reprogramarlo entre junio y julio, buscando mayor impacto ambiental y evitar su coincidencia con Semana Santa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El alcalde de Cochabamba, Manfred Reyes Villa, inform\u00f3 este mi\u00e9rcoles que se postergar\u00e1 el D\u00eda del Peat\u00f3n en la ciudad por las actividades programadas por Semana Santa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abEstamos postergando porque se cruza con Semana Santa, me han pedido, entonces vamos a postergar para no cruzar con ninguna actividad\u00bb, indic\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Alcald\u00eda de Cochabamba ten\u00eda previsto realizar el D\u00eda del Peat\u00f3n  para el primer domingo de abril, pero lo reprogramar\u00e1 para los meses de junio o julio, con el objetivo de lograr un mayor impacto ambiental y evitar su coincidencia con otras actividades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sobre este tema, el director de Medio Ambiente, Elvis Guti\u00e9rrez, inform\u00f3 que ya se presentaron los informes t\u00e9cnicos y jur\u00eddicos para postergar la jornada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo ser\u00eda bueno suspenderlo, sino postergarlo, porque justamente cae en Semana Santa\u201d, explic\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se\u00f1al\u00f3 que, adem\u00e1s del calendario, se eval\u00faan factores clim\u00e1ticos.<\/strong> Guti\u00e9rrez record\u00f3 que durante la \u00e9poca fr\u00eda los niveles de contaminaci\u00f3n tienden a concentrarse m\u00e1s, lo que incrementa los riesgos para la salud, especialmente en personas con enfermedades respiratorias y adultos mayores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEntonces la recomendaci\u00f3n es realizar el D\u00eda del Peat\u00f3n en la \u00e9poca donde la contaminaci\u00f3n afecta m\u00e1s al cuerpo humano\u201d, sostuvo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En ese sentido, coment\u00f3 que se analiza fijar una fecha m\u00e1s estable entre junio y julio, periodo en el que las bajas temperaturas agravan la calidad del aire. <\/strong>Esta propuesta tambi\u00e9n es compartida con otros municipios, que coinciden en la necesidad de ajustar el calendario para maximizar los beneficios ambientales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asimismo, el director de Medio Ambiente\u00a0\u00a0plante\u00f3 la posibilidad de ampliar el n\u00famero de jornadas del D\u00eda del Peat\u00f3n durante el a\u00f1o<\/strong>. \u201cActualmente tenemos tres, pero deber\u00edamos tener cuatro, al menos una cada tres meses\u201d, indic\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El cambio de fecha tambi\u00e9n responde a la coincidencia con eventos como Semana Santa o procesos electorales, que en anteriores gestiones obligaron a modificar la programaci\u00f3n. La propuesta se encuentra en an\u00e1lisis y, para su aplicaci\u00f3n, requerir\u00e1 ajustes en la normativa vigente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
